Welcome to NuFi wallet's knowledge base. Learn more about NuFi (and access the wallet) on our homepage here or ask a question in our Discord server here.
This article explains how to pair a Trezor T, Safe 3 or Safe 5 hardware wallet with NuFi wallet so that you can manage your Trezor's accounts inside NuFi's interface.
Doing this gives you access to functionality that isn't available in Trezor Suite, such as cross-chain swaps for thousands of tokens, in-app DEX aggregators, DeFi and other Decentralized Apps (Dapps), staking dashboard, and more.
It takes about a minute to set up a wallet profile and pair your Trezor's account(s) into NuFi's interface.

Important
- When you pair a Trezor device with NuFi wallet, your crypto remains in your Trezor wallet
- By pairing, you simply share your wallet's public address(es) so that NuFi can query the blockchain and show you the contents of your wallet, plus its staking setup, history, and so on.
- Your wallet's private keys are never shared with NuFi - these always remain inside the Trezor device itself.
- You must always pair a Trezor device using a cable, and never by manually entering the device's seed/recovery phrase online.
- NuFi is a non-custodial wallet and cannot access or control any of the funds you manage via NuFi's interface.
Setup
Before you continue, please ensure that your Trezor device's firmware is up to date. You may need to update Trezor Suite first in order to access the latest firmware version.
Also ensure that Trezor Suite is closed and not running in the background.
1. Create a NuFi wallet profile
Before you can manage your Trezor's accounts in NuFi's interface, you must create a NuFi wallet profile and pair your Trezor's accounts into it.
There are two versions of NuFi wallet:
- a browser extension that you install from Chrome web store; and
- a web-based wallet accessed via a URL (with nothing to install).
Both versions of NuFi support Trezor devices, but they differ in terms of Dapp connectivity; the browser extension connects to all Dapps, while the web wallet connects to any Dapp that supports WalletConnect.
2. Pair your Trezor device's accounts with NuFi wallet
- Open NuFi wallet's browser extension or visit wallet.nu.fi; click 'Pair hardware wallet' on the first screen
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create a NuFi wallet profile:
- Choose a wallet name and a password; this allows you to log in on your next visit without needing to connect your Trezor device (but you will always need to connect your device in order to sign transactions).
- Write down your NuFi wallet's recovery phrase or skip this step if you don't plan to create any non-hardware wallet accounts.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to export your wallet's public keys:
- Select the blockchain and select Trezor.
Important: Trezor Connect will launch and interact with your device; make sure you allow popups and redirects, otherwise the Trezor Connect popup may be prevented from opening.
- When NuFi receives your Trezor wallet's public keys, you'll see your Trezor's accounts and balances listed for that particular blockchain.
- Choose which account(s) you would like to pair with NuFi and click Continue. Choose a name for each account if you wish.
Important: For some blockchains, different accounts can be derived from the same public key. NuFi shows you, in separate tabs at the top, each derivation path and the resulting accounts (with balances).
Your accounts and assets will now be visible inside NuFi's interface. Repeat the process for each blockchain you want to manage via NuFi.
You can pair your device's existing accounts or create new ones at any time from Portfolio > Accounts tab > Add account, as shown here:
