Welcome to NuFi wallet's knowledge base. Learn more about NuFi (and access the wallet) on our homepage here or ask a question in our Discord server here.

This article explains why you might be eligible to claim free NIGHT tokens, courtesy of Midnight Network, simply for holding crypto in your wallet.

It also explains how to check your Bitcoin, Cardano, Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB and BAT accounts' eligibility and claim NIGHT tokens using the Midnight Airdrop wizard inside NuFi wallet.

It takes just seconds per account to check and claim in NuFi's interface, and hardware wallet accounts are supported too. If you're not a NuFi user, you can restore your existing accounts into NuFi's non-custodial wallet interface, then use the Airdrop wizard.

About Midnight's airdrop

Introducing … one of crypto’s biggest-ever airdrops, courtesy of Midnight Network: a new privacy-focused blockchain by Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson.

Midnight’s mainnet launch is coming soon and, to celebrate, 37 million wallets are eligible to receive NIGHT – the Midnight Network’s utility token as part of the Midnight airdrop. If you're skeptical, see herehere and here for some social proof.

Eligibility

To qualify, you needed $100 or more of BTC, ADA, SOL, ETH, AVAX, BNB or BAT in a non-custodial wallet on June 11th 2025, which is when the secret snapshot was taken.

Crypto held in a custodial wallet (like on a centralized exchange) isn’t eligible. Crypto held in a hardware wallet *is* eligible, and NuFi wallet supports the check/claim process for 6 devices (more on that below).

Schedule

The first claim phase, called “Glacier Drop”, is happening right now. It started August 5th 2025 and runs until October 4th 2025.

Eligible accounts should claim their NIGHT token allocation during this period; there are subsequent claim phases (for latecomers) but the allocations are smaller.

Redemption Period

Your NIGHT tokens will ‘thaw’ and become available over time during the Redemption Period. More information about this will be provided soon; follow NuFi on X for updates.

About NuFi's Midnight Airdrop wizard

The Midnight Airdrop Wizard is inside NuFi's non-custodial wallet. It automatically checks your accounts’ eligibility for all chains at once, shows your NIGHT token allocations, then lets you complete the claim process for each eligible account.

Bitcoin, Cardano, Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB and BAT holders can restore their accounts into NuFi to check eligibility and claim NIGHT tokens. The entire process can be completed in NuFi's interface.

How to restore your accounts

Because NuFi wallet is non-custodial, you can restore existing accounts from other wallets into NuFi wallet’s interface in order to use them with the Airdrop wizard.

You can restore your existing Bitcoin, Cardano, Solana, Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB and BAT accounts using a seed/recovery phrase or by pairing a hardware wallet.

How to restore accounts using a seed/recovery phrase

1) install NuFi wallet’s browser extension here or open NuFi’s web wallet here.

2) click ‘Restore wallet’ and enter a 12, 15 or 24-word seed or recovery phrase; choose a name for your wallet profile and set a password.

3) select which blockchains you want to enable in your wallet and click Save; you’ll see your accounts for these chains inside NuFi wallet’s interface.

Important: an account will not be visible if its blockchain isn’t enabled in your wallet. You can enable blockchains at any time by clicking the gear icon next to the blockchain selector in Portfolio.

How to add more accounts

To add more existing accounts into your wallet:

  1. click the ‘Accounts’ tab in the Portfolio section.

  2. click ‘Add Account’ in the top right, then ‘Add new accounts’.

  3. choose a blockchain to see a list of accounts that can be added.

  4. select which account(s) you’d like to add and Continue; edit account names on the next screen if you want.

Important: when you add accounts, NuFi shows you – in separate tabs – the different accounts created using different derivation paths. Check each tab if you can’t find the accounts you’re looking for.

  1. your accounts will be visible inside your wallet (and ready for the Airdrop wizard).

You can also add new accounts from the Assets screen; click ‘Add account’ next to an asset to see available accounts.

How to add more accounts using another seed phrase

If you want to restore another wallet using a different seed or recovery phrase, simply log out of your wallet (in the top right) and choose again to ‘Restore wallet’. Enter the seed/recovery phrase and create a new wallet profile for the additional accounts.

For hardware wallet users

You can use NuFi wallet’s Midnight Airdrop Wizard to check eligibility and claim for accounts in Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, BitBox02, GridPlus and OneKey hardware wallets.

Important: the NIGHT claiming process isn’t supported by some devices on some blockchains; see details below.

How to restore hardware wallet accounts

Before continuing, please ensure that your device’s firmware and apps are up to date, and that you’ve closed any applications that communicate with your device (such as Ledger Live or Trezor Suite).

1) install NuFi wallet’s browser extension here or open NuFi’s web wallet here.

2) click ‘Pair hardware wallet’; choose a name for your wallet profile and set a password.

3) choose to ‘Continue without a recovery phrase’.

4) select which blockchains you want to enable in your wallet and click Save.

Important: an account will not be visible if its blockchain isn’t enabled in your wallet. You can enable blockchains at any time by clicking the gear icon next to the blockchain selector in Portfolio.

5) click ‘Add Account’ next to an asset, then click ‘Add new HW accounts’

6) select your device (and allow public keys to be exported if prompted); NuFi will show you your available accounts with balances.

7) choose which accounts you’d like to add and Continue; edit account names on the next screen if you want.

Important: when you add accounts, NuFi shows you – in separate tabs – the different accounts created using different derivation paths. Check each tab if you can’t find the accounts you’re looking for.

8) your accounts will be visible inside your wallet (and ready for the Airdrop Wizard)

How to check eligibility and claim NIGHT tokens

When you’ve restored your accounts into NuFi’s interface, you can use the Airdrop wizard to check all accounts’ eligibility and claim NIGHT tokens.

  1. Click ‘Airdrop’ on the left; you’ll see which of your accounts are eligible and their NIGHT allocations.

  1. Click Claim for each eligible account and select a Cardano account to receive your NIGHT tokens. Choose from Cardano accounts in your NuFi wallet or enter an external Cardano account address.

If you don’t have a Cardano account, click ‘Add account’ and create one, then use this as the destination account for your NIGHT tokens.

Important: if you select ‘External address’, be sure to enter an unused Cardano address as per the airdrop’s requirements.

  2. Click Continue and sign the message to prove that you own the wallet you’re claiming with. Hardware wallet users will need to approve this on the device’s screen.

  1. If your claim was successful, you’ll see onscreen confirmation and the account’s status will change to ‘Claimed’ in the Airdrop wizard. Repeat for each eligible account before October 4th 2025.

If your claim fails, try again, and open a support ticket on Discord
     if you need help.

Information for hardware wallet users

The Midnight airdrop’s claim process requires you to sign a message to prove wallet ownership. Unfortunately, message signing isn’t supported by some devices for some blockchains, so some hardware wallet users will not be able to claim NIGHT tokens at this time.

For reference:

  • Cardano: claim using Ledger, Keystone and OneKey hardware wallets. Support for Trezor devices coming soon.

  • Bitcoin: claim using Ledger and Keystone hardware wallets.

  • Solana: claim using Keystone and OneKey hardware wallets.

  • EthereumAvalancheBNB Chain and Basic Attention Token (BAT): claim using Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, OneKey, GridPlus and BitBox02 hardware wallets.
