About Midnight airdrop

Introducing … one of crypto’s biggest-ever airdrops, courtesy of Midnight Network (a new privacy-focused blockchain by Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson).

Midnight’s mainnet launch is coming soon; to celebrate, 37 million wallets are eligible to receive NIGHT (the network’s utility token) in the Midnight airdrop. See herehere and here for some social proof.

Eligibility

To qualify, you needed $100 or more of BTC, ADA, SOL, XRP, ETH, AVAX, BNB or BAT in a non-custodial wallet on June 11th 2025, which is when the secret snapshot was taken.

The first claim phase, called “Glacier Drop”, is happening right now. It started August 5th 2025 and runs until October 4th 2025.

How to check eligibility and claim NIGHT

You can restore your accounts from other wallets into NuFi's non-custodial wallet and complete the check and claim process in NuFi's interface.

NuFi supports checking and claiming for all assets supported in Midnight's airdrop: Bitcoin, Cardano, Solana, XRP*, Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB and BAT.

*For XRP, Ledger hardware wallet accounts are supported.

 Step 1: Restore accounts

  • Install NuFi wallet’s browser extension here or open the web wallet here.
  • Click ‘Restore wallet’ and enter a 12, 15 or 24-word seed or recovery phrase
    or Click 'Pair Hardware Wallet'

Hardware wallets: Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, BitBox02, GridPlus and OneKey devices supported

  • Choose a name for your wallet profile and set a password
  • Choose which blockchains to enable in your wallet (note: XRP is not selectable here)
  • Hardware wallet users: click Add Account (on Assets or Accounts screens) and follow instructions to add your device's accounts (note: Ledger XRP users can add accounts in the Airdrop section)

 Step 2: Click 'Airdrop'

Click Airdrop on the left: you’ll see which of your accounts are eligible to claim NIGHT tokens.

For XRP users with a Ledger device

  • Open the XRP app on your Ledger device.
  • Click Airdrop on the left, and click Check (for Ripple) at the bottom.
  • Export public keys from your device.
  • You'll see any eligible XRP accounts and their NIGHT allocations.

 Step 3: Claim NIGHT

  • Click Claim next to each eligible account.
  • Select a destination account to receive your NIGHT tokens.
  • Click Continue and Sign the message. Done!

If your claim was successful, you’ll see onscreen confirmation and the account’s status will change to ‘Claimed’. If your claim fails, try again, and open a support ticket on Discord if you need help.

About the destination account

NIGHT is a Cardano token, which is why a Cardano account is needed to receive it. When you select a destination account to receive your NIGHT, you can choose a Cardano account in your NuFi wallet or an external Cardano address. If you don't have a Cardano account, click ‘Add account’ to create one, then use this.

Important: NuFi automatically uses an account's first unused address as the destination, as per Midnight's requirements. If you select ‘External address’, be sure to manually enter an unused Cardano address.

Information for hardware wallet users

The Midnight airdrop’s claim process requires you to sign a message to prove wallet ownership. Unfortunately, message signing isn’t supported by some devices for some blockchains, so some hardware wallet users will not be able to claim NIGHT tokens at this time.

For reference:

  • Cardano: claim using Ledger, Keystone and OneKey hardware wallets. Soon: support for Trezor.

  • Bitcoin: claim using Ledger and Keystone hardware wallets.

  • Solana: claim using Keystone and OneKey hardware wallets.

  • EthereumAvalancheBNB Chain and Basic Attention Token (BAT): claim using Ledger, Trezor, Keystone, OneKey, GridPlus and BitBox02 hardware wallets.

  • XRP: claim using Ledger hardware wallet.
